If you were lucky enough to seal the deal on a pair of Coachella tickets this year then I envy you. But if you’re like me, you’ll be sitting back poolside or beach side and catching a couple of smaller local festivals. Still not a bad arrangement though. Either way, your glam game has to be stunning. You won’t need a suitcase full of makeup, just a duffle. All joking aside, I want to show you a few of my favorite things. Some of the best skincare that will protect you from the sun, heal any inflammation caused by the sun, and combat the damage that hyperpigmentation, lack of sleep, and alcohol will cause. You know it’s all going down so don’t deny it, get prepared.
Set the beauty standard with these essentials.
Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Deodorant makes me feel like I am in the queen’s garden of roses. The fragrance is so light and gently wears throughout the day. It won’t prevent you from sweating but it will prevent that dreadful festival BO that is strong enough to stop the show! I found mine at Wholefoods and it was a match made in heaven.
MAC’s Peachlite Strobe Cream Hydrant is the perfect glow accessory. It is subtle enough to use all over before foundation. Sometimes I skip the foundation and just use concealer wherever needed. You might want to think about doing that If you typically don’t wear foundation to begin with but want perfectly glowy skin.
Le Mieux’s Bio Cell Rejuvenating cream is like wearing a wonderful blanket of velvet hydration. If you have dry skin this is a great daily moisturizer. If your skin is otherwise It is the perfect night cream. Staying out in the sun all day, partying and dry weather always leaves my skin a little rough. Imagine how this is going to feel when you turn in for the night or early morning. I promise your skin will be so soft and refreshed that cherubs won’t be able to hold a candle to you.
Control Corrective makes an SPF that is hands down on my top 3 list of all times. If you have combo to oily skin you might want to use the aroma matte SPF 30. It leaves the skin fresh and protected. But if you are like me, you’ll want to use the botanical soothing cream SPF 30. It’s made specifically for sensitive skin and offers healing along with the protection you deserve.
ISO Cell recovery solution by Le Mieux is the toner of the century for me! It is hydrating, soothing and healing. I would not head to a festival without it. Grab the travel size so that you can keep it in your fanny or tote. This toner repairs damaged cells, calms the skin and is extremely refreshing.
If you are one to wake up free of under eye circles and distress, then you don’t exist in real life! But for the rest of us, there is Le Mieux’s velvety eye wrinkle corrector. It hydrates and comforts the eye area while reducing puffiness and brightening up those dark tunnels under the eye.
Phyto nutrient cleansing gel is so refreshing, and feels like teeny tiny bubbles are lifting debris from the skin. You’ll need this if you’ll be wherever dirt and dust exists.
I love a good sheet mask! Hopefully everyone will be wearing and reapplying enough SPF to keep sunburn at bay. Probably not though, having fun makes us all forget about the little things. I’m so glad that sheet masks are so travel friendly and easy to tuck away. You can wear them anywhere and there is no clean up! One of my favorites is by a brand called Secret Nature. They make several types of masks for each skin type and ailment.
Do you have a custom blend foundation? I do, it was created and perfected at Mila Artistry in Pasadena I wanted a foundation with a texture and finish that I can control, something with skin healthy ingredients and obviously a perfect color. I will always stand by the notion that foundation is the last step to skincare during the day. Because it is. It offers another fine layer of protection and should illuminate your best features and give you the skin texture you’ll love.
Powerful skincare should make your beauty routine effortless and transform your skin into a dream.

Pau Du Winter
Winter has got us all wrapped up in a love hate relationship. While we love reasons to shop, and cozy up in our favorite cashmere sweaters and luxe winter scarves, we also hate what the cold weather does to our hair and skin! Dry skin and chapped lips is not comfortable by any means, and if I can be honest, it isn’t cute! Let’s keep in mind that our skin may have been weathered from the summer sun and gusty fall winds, but since the holidays creep up on us so quickly none of us really think about how or when to reset our skin.
Just in case you haven’t figured it out, cold weather slows our ability to metabolize sebum. Sebum is the natural lubrication our skin produces. It is part of our protective barrier and is responsible for that natural glow. Sebum plays the fence though, as it is also the contributing factor to blackheads! Our pores need the lubrication to push debris out otherwise it gets trapped as it begins to oxidize and harden. It is difficult for the skin to get moisture when our supply is blocked, so we accumulate dead dry skin cells that leave us with textured and dull wrinkle prone skin.
By now, you’re probably begging me to go back to what we love about winter, I get it, winter skin can be scary but that’s why I want to tell you about a few facial treatments that were designed for all skin types in mind and have already changed the game.
Since its launch, this revolutionary high-tech facial has been making a splash! The HydraFacial cleanses, exfoliates, and extracts impurities from the skin leaving it radiant and supple. Each treatment is up to 30 minutes and is customized for specific concerns and has long lasting results. There is absolutely zero down time and you can reapply your foundation as soon as your treatment is done.
Perk is the younger millennial sister of the HydraFacial. Also known as “the Cleanse with benefits” It is the first hybrid facial on the market. That’s right, hybrid. You can get the treatment done by your esthetician and continue your treatment at home. It’s possible because the same serum wand that is used in office is the same one that you leave with. The treatment is between 10-15 minutes so it’s perfect for those who want instant gratification on the go. You can choose between an eye, lip or face treatment or take all three and run!
Why go through the prickly pain of micro needling when you can just painlessly rezenerate?
This facial is assisted by a Nano technology which acts as a catalyst for skincare and increases the efficacy of product. This treatment targets fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration while offering hydration and radiance.
I know you’ll enjoy these facial treatments as much as I do. Until next time,
Bien à toi

A few years ago, I discovered a tea that would change my life. I have always loved tea and I drink it at least at least 2x a day. When I was younger I spent a lot of time with my great grandmother Evelyn. Evelyn had the most beautiful skin anyone had ever seen and everyone would just rave about it all the time. People would always ask her what she used and she’d laugh while saying “sugar!”. It was only funny because everyone who knew her understood that 80% of her diet was sugar! And even though it was and still is a dangerous diet she lived to be 89 years old and left us when I was 19. I would definitely consider myself lucky having had the opportunity to spend so much of my life with her.
Looking back, my granny was always drinking tea. Around the clock she’d have a cup of tea within an arm’s reach. Tea is both hydrating and has its health benefits. I learned a lot from her and I definitely benefited from her pore-less, wrinkleless genes. And clearly, I have a mad taste for tea.
As I walked down the tea aisle I was glancing over the different teas and I came across one in a round pink canister which read “Get Gorgeous”. This tea offered me clear skin and great antioxidant benefits. I was sold. I don’t normally break out on a regular basis thanks to granny. But, just like a lot of people I get breakouts at inappropriate times.
I read more about this “get Gorgeous “tea and how it was caffeine free, perfect! Because, I unwind every night with a cup of tea.
So, I get it home and I have to have a cup immediately. As soon as I opened the container I was carried away by the aroma. I didn’t understand what I was smelling but it was beautiful and I let it carry me away. The rooibos tea is saturated with ingredients like hibiscus, orange peel, red clover, burdock root, and natural pomegranate. So, the harmony of the flavors is mouth-watering and I felt gorgeous with every sip.

A few weeks back I shared a short boomerang on Insta that shows a little bit of how I give one of my favorite facials.I had no idea that It would be shared by Le Mieu on their social media pages as well! What an honor! So here it is, I shared it straight from the Le mieux's instagram. Take a look, and If you havent had one of my facials you should certainly treat yourself!
Welcome Home Le Mieux
Back in November, Le Mieux held a fundraising benefit for the storm victims in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. Almost a dozen fashion bloggers helped to make the event a success by donating some of their favorite threads for the market- like set up at the Bielle Institute, founded by Le Mieux's creator Janel Luu.
I had heard the name before, but it wasn't until a friend and colleague, Lisa Morgan, founder and creator of prettylittleshoppers.com shared the events link on her social media that I remembered that this would be a good brand to explore for Mila Artistry.
So, the second she shared the link is when I reserved my spot for the event. I thought to myself "What perfect timing to host such a heartwarming benefit, and it's walking distance of where i live" Plus, It would be great to catch up with Lisa.
When I got to the benefit, the Le Mieux team greeted guests at the door with generous gift bags and delicious treats. I really hope they host another event soon because it was really beautiful and welcoming!
I left the event with a good sense of the brands culture and personality. But thats not all I left with! I made sure to grab the Skin Perfecter tool and a few additional products that I knew I needed to try. After some time of experiencing the skincare for myself I decided that Le Mieux would be a good fit for my skincare boutique and salon. Well, I couldn't have been more right because it looks beautiful on display and feels even better on the skin.
Visit the links I've shared (in the blue text) to explore the luxury of the Le Mieux brand & don't forget to visit Pretty Little Shoppers for tips on beautiful fashion and luxury lifestyle.
And of course you can always come visit me for a facial or coffee date so we can talk about nothing but The Best for your skin. 😉 Get it? Because Le Mieux means the best in French.😄 See you soon!
Your Friends Might be a Bad influence on your skin, sorry. Think about this, we all have that one friend with the gorgeous, non-textured even skin who can use just about anything on her face right? She’s got more rewards points from Ulta and Sephora than a fourth year English Lit student at Yale has Starbucks rewards. That’s a lot of points! But you’ve tried a few of her recommendations and were occasionally sorry that you did. Like the eye cream that burns even though you only dabbed it with your ring finger, the gentle face wash which left your skin tight and dry or the other way around. And that really cool black magnetic face mask that left your skin red and irritated for days. Girl, If you are that friend and you are reading this you might want to issue an apology to your dearest friends and SLOW YOUR ROLE! Let me do my job.
On the other hand, you may have that one girl friend who you don’t even recognize anymore. Her skin went from a peperoni pizza pie to skin so smooth and clear that babies get jealous. And that’s because she only takes beauty advice from her coolest, smartest girlfriend, AKA her beautician. Pun intended. The only thing she would recommend you to do is get in contact with me, I mean her, err her esthetician. ;) Well, whomever you decide to get in contact with, SHE is the best friend to be taking beauty advice from because she lets the pros do their jobs. And that is where the magic is.
Don’t get me wrong, I love when people share product testimonials and represent which brands they love! It helps make the world go-round, after all, sharing really is caring. Just be careful what you choose to try, especially if you have any specific concerns about your skin because what may work for one, may not work for others.
I hope you all enjoyed your thanksgiving festivities whether it was low key or with your entire clan!
Talking about Fenty Beauty
If I were to mention the name Robyn Fenty, no one would know who I’m speaking of. But If I mention Fenty Beauty everyone would know that Rhiana is the arcane name behind this newly launched line which caters to a new generation of color saturated skin. With a cache of 40 different shades ranging from Ivory tones to deep Kukui tones you can say that Rhiana’s goal was to make sure that anyone could be fit into their proper shade. On a side note, Kukui is the Hawaiian state tree. the nuts of this tree are used for many things and in many remedies. The shells of the Kukui nut are also used to make neckless and bracelets that you would typically see at gift shops in Hawaii.
Moving on, by now you have seen a ton of reviews given by vloggers and bloggers from around the world. And maybe you’ve tried it yourself like I did. Either way, if you are curious about my opinion I’ll show you what I’ve tried and how I tried it. Keep in mind that there are many skin types and conditions so my preference and experience won’t be the same for everyone else.
FOUNDATION- The color I chose was 370. It was the best fit for my tone and shade. I was fooled by the colors that looked the closest to my skin at an eyes glance. So, it took me a few tries to find my fit. I first tried it without any primer or moisturizer just so I could feel it bare. And from there, I tried other methods. My personal favorite method is to complete my skin care then mix my foundation with my SPF. If I need more coverage I press in 1 or 2 dots in the needed areas only. I usually apply my foundation with my hands by moving in a gentle upward motion and I finish with pressing the product into the skin. This method gives the skin a beautiful natural finish with no traceable lines. Sometimes I use a large buffing brush when I’m adding a fuller coverage.
Here are the ways I played with the application
BARE TEXTURE- If you’ve heard that the foundation dries quickly then you heard correctly. My skin is mostly normal to dry these days so the foundation went matte as soon as it touched my bare skin and exposed any texture that it could find.
PRIMED TEXTURE- I tried the foundation with the primer alone, and the texture was just the same. Keep in mind my skin is normal- dry. More on the dry side though.
MIXED PRIMER + FOUNDATION – This method sheered out the foundation a bit and it gave me more slip. But, my skin absorbed the product just as quickly as the other method so
MOISTURIZER- After toning and moisturizing the foundation went on and finished more comfortably and was still a nice matte texture. Usually when I do this with a matte foundation it leaves me with a satin finish.
MIXED MOISTURIZER + FOUNDATION – Or mixed SPF, whichever. This was the best method for me. I mixed 1- 2 pumps of foundation with one drop of Control Corrective’s Botanical Soothing SPF 30 over the primer and it spread smoothly. It also set natural – matte.
I like the overall texture of the foundation. It is definitely water resistant and non-transferable. If you are familiar with Temptu airbrush makeup the texture is very similar to that once it is set. I can wear it all day and I can wear it without a setting powder.
What I don’t like about it is that for my specific skin type, it isn’t practical for an everyday grab and go foundation. You know, like when you wake up late and think “I’ll just put my foundation on in the car.” Nope! Because it dries so quickly.
MATCH STIX TRIO- Tan 300 was my trio. I think I’m gonna go back and grab the suede Match Stick because the caramel is a bit on the ashy side for me. Suede is probably the exact match of my skin but that is how I prefer my highlight as I just use a deeper blush with a deep contour. The Rum shimmer stick is just perfect. I use it for a quick eyelid and lip highlight.Speaking of highlight, The Galaxy Collection is available now! It really does look out of this world and I can't wait to try it!
By the way, did you notice my cute aloha cosmetic pouch? I got it from Matsumoto Shave ice on the north shore of Oahu. You can order it online here 👉🏽 matsumotoshaveice.com
But I recommend that you take a ✈️ trip to the cute island store in person instead!
You’ve heard of it. You’ve seen the before and after’s, and you’ve watched the countless you-tube reviews. But have you tried the Hanacure?
For months, this South Korean miracle mask had been sold out and on every ones most wanted list! But I, like countless other curious beauty gurus, have finally gotten my face in “the all- in- one” miracle mask. I wondered if the claims of immediate visible results could actually be true. Skeptically, I know that there are a lot of consumer skincare products that have claims of immediate results. But how often do they deliver? I was also curious as to how this; One mask “fits all skin types” product, compares to a professional facial given by a licensed beauty expert like myself.
I’ve been told that my Gifting Beauty treatment room is “magical”. My guests, which some of them might be you, benefit from 60-90- minute facial treatments that offer immediate results in texture, clarity, and rejuvenation.
But what I always reveal to my guests is that the real magic is in maintaining your facial results on your own at home.
Beyond the authenticity of my being a collector of fine skincare and beauty tools, I am often asked my opinion or advice on the latest product or treatment. And by nature, I analyze the skin first. So, one might ask if it is necessary to have a skin analysis before using the Hanacure product since it claims to work for all skin types. My response is yes, always. Especially when a before and after is involved because you always want to be able to note the comparisons.
Clean, beautiful, and descriptive is how I perceive the Hanacure packaging.
Upon opening, there is an instructional and educational booklet that explains what to expect, how it works and how to use.
There is one single glass vial of lifting serum per gelling solution pack and one reusable applicator brush similar to what I use for facials.
The scent is neutral.
I cleansed my skin with control corrective 2% salicylic face wash because I am obviously breaking out. (I blame the break out on the Halloween🎃 sugar binge.) Then, I toned using a gentle botanical toner also from control corrective. Once the lifting serum and gelling solution were mixed I applied on my dry skin and let it sit for 30 minutes.
Tightening and mild tingling is the only thing I felt. My skin is normal- dry with occasional breakouts so I’m sure the sensation I felt will be different from that of other skin types and conditions.
The mask was simple to remove! Soluble to water without leaving a trace and without having to repetitively rub the product off the skin. I did notice very mild sensitivity and redness. And I Also noticed that the inflammation in my breakouts were immediately reduced. Not gone, but reduced. I was hoping that the slight puffiness below my eyes would go down but it did not.
I followed the removal of my Hanacure mask with my skincare regiment and found that my skin absorbed the product quicker than normal leaving my skin softer and more-supple.
I like this mask as a bi weekly or emergency home maintenance product between facials, but I certainly don’t think that it is the answer to all of your skin care problems and should not replace your esthetician! At $29 per single application I think it’s worth the price, and with holiday season approaching very rapidly it could be the perfect stocking stuffer for anyone.
